PE is a popular part of the week. Whilst we do not have the benefit of a large playing field, we make maximum use of the space and resources we have. Our close ties with Holy Trinity Church mean that the church is available for PE during inclement weather. There cannot be many children in England who are able to play hockey in church!
Sports Day is held during school time so all the pupils take part, and even some parents have been known to try their luck at a three legged race!
After school sports clubs are held throughout the year, whilst during school time the focus is on dance, gym and games. Lunchtimes are an opportunity to learn skipping, catching and team games and practise any skills they have learnt. During the first half term in Autumn 2018 we have a weekly lunchtime basketball club that can be accessed by all the pupils. This is then followed by an afternoon of basketball. On Friday afternoons during the Autumn term 2018 the pupils are learning archery.
Children in Year 2 take part annually in the Caunton Tennis Festival, and have enjoyed their tennis coaching before visiting this event.
