Global Neighbours

From toilet twinning with Uganda, to donating food for local people, we are trying our best to act as good global citizens.

At Holy Trinity, our creative curriculum ensures that all children have opportunities to think about their role as Global Neighbours, how we can all have an impact and make a positive difference, across all aspects of the curriculum.

Global Neighbours is a Christian Aid initiative designed to encourage children to become courageous advocates for the common good both globally and locally.

The accreditation scheme celebrates schools that are helping pupils learn about global poverty and the Christian responsibility to tackle it, as well as giving them the tools to play a confident part in creating a fairer world. Our world is increasingly connected and our hope is for our children to grow as responsible global citizens.

Being a good global neighbour is more than just feeling sorry for people who are suffering from misfortune - it is about making a difference to their lives. One way this can be done is through courageous advocacy. At Holy Trinity, our creative curriculum ensures that all children have opportunities to think about their role as Global Neighbours, how we can all have an impact and make a positive difference, across all aspects of the curriculum.

There are three levels of accreditation: bronze, silver and gold. These are verified by Church of England Education Office assessors, who look for evidence across five areas: school leadership, teaching and learning; collective worship and spiritual development; pupil participation; and community engagement.

At Holy Trinity, we are currently working towards the bronze level.

Toilet Twinning

Money raised helps some of the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe sanitation, clean water and hygiene education. Through wearing blue to school on ‘Blue for the Loo’ day, organising a cake sale and support from Holy Trinity Church's fundraising for Toilet Twinning we supported Toilet Twinning’s vital water and sanitation work, helping to do something about the fact that 2.3 billion people don’t have somewhere safe and hygienic to go to the loo.
